Better Sourcing. Better Products. Better Service. Better Value.
Tariffs are real. Freight costs are rising. Supply may tighten temporarily. But paying more for less does not have to become the new normal.
CastleUp's commitment: When costs change, We look for smarter sourcing, better value and stronger service.

The Furniture Market Is Changing
The furniture and home industry is entering another period of adjustment.
Effective September 8, 2026, Canada introduced new counter-tariffs on a range of U.S.-origin products. Several furniture categories are subject to tariffs of 25% or 50%, depending on the product classification.
At the same time, transportation, fuel, labour and replacement inventory costs continue to put pressure on retailers and manufacturers.
For customers, this can mean changing prices, longer lead times and fewer choices on certain products.
For retailers, it creates an important question:
Do we simply pass every increase along to the customer — or do we find better ways to respond?
At CastleUp Experience Centre, we believe our responsibility is to find solutions.
01
Tariffs May Change the Market. Our Approach Should Change Too.
We cannot control government trade policies, fuel prices, exchange rates or manufacturer increases.
But we can control how we respond.
CastleUp works with Canadian manufacturers, North American brands, international factories, distributors and importers so we are not dependent on only one supplier, country or supply channel.
When one product becomes too expensive, we look for alternatives.
When freight costs rise, we look for ways to improve shipment planning.
When good Canadian inventory is available, we try to secure it.
And when a product simply no longer represents good value, we should be willing to tell our customer:
“There may be a better option. Let us show you.”
We cannot make tariffs disappear.
But we can work harder to reduce their impact.
02
Cheap Is Not the Same as Good Value
Higher costs can create pressure for retailers to replace good products with cheaper ones.
That is not the CastleUp approach.
There are always products available at extremely low wholesale prices. But if we are not confident in the construction, materials, durability, manufacturer support or long-term reliability, we would rather refuse the product.
What We Look At
-
Frame and construction quality
-
Cushion and foam quality
-
Materials and fabrics
-
Reclining mechanisms and hardware
-
Manufacturer reputation
-
Warranty support
-
Parts availability
-
Long-term reliability
We do not want customers to save a little money today only to face broken frames, collapsed cushions, unreliable mechanisms or unavailable replacement parts later.
Affordable furniture can be great value.
Affordable and unreliable are not the same thing.
Our rule is simple:
If we would not feel comfortable recommending a product to our own family, we should not recommend it to our customers.
03
If Prices Must Rise, Service Should Rise Too
Sometimes a price increase simply cannot be avoided.
Manufacturers may increase prices.
Freight may increase.
Tariffs may apply.
Replacement inventory may cost more.
When that happens, CastleUp asks a different question:
How can we give the customer more?
If the product price must increase, we do not believe the customer's overall experience should become worse.
That is one of the main reasons CastleUp invested in our own logistics and delivery operation.
More Than Just Delivery
Furniture delivery is very different from shipping a small parcel.
Sofas, sectionals, dining sets, bedroom furniture and mattresses require careful handling, scheduling and communication.
CastleUp's logistics capabilities help us provide better support with:
Delivery Communication
Clearer coordination before your furniture arrives.
Careful Handling
Greater control over how furniture moves from warehouse to home.
Installation Options
Additional support when setup is required.
After-Purchase Service
Help does not stop once the furniture is delivered.
The relationship should not end when the payment is processed. In many ways, that is when the real service begins.
04
From Local Delivery to Nationwide Support
CastleUp's delivery network goes beyond our own team.
To serve customers across Canada, we also partner with trusted third-party logistics and transportation companies.
For eligible parcels and mattresses-in-a-box, we work with major national carriers including:
UPS • Purolator • Canada Post • FedEx
For larger furniture orders outside our direct delivery area, third-party freight partners help us extend our reach.
CastleUp Logistics + National Partners = More Flexible Delivery
Our goal is to find the most practical and reliable delivery solution available for each customer.
Local service when we can. Nationwide reach when you need it.
05
Canadian-Made Furniture Deserves a Closer Look 🇨🇦
The current trade environment gives Canadian shoppers another good reason to look closer to home.
CastleUp continues to expand our focus on Canadian-made furniture, particularly sofas, sectionals and customizable upholstery.
Why Consider Canadian-Made?
Shorter supply chains
Less dependence on long-distance finished-goods transportation.
Customization
More opportunities to choose fabrics, configurations and finishes.
Closer manufacturer relationships
Easier communication and support.
Support Canadian jobs
Your purchase helps support Canadian manufacturing.
Canadian-made does not automatically mean cheaper.
Canadian manufacturers may still use imported fabrics, mechanisms, hardware and other components.
But when quality, design, customization and pricing come together, Canadian-made furniture can offer excellent long-term value.
Don't compare only the brand name. Compare the frame, foam, fabric, craftsmanship, warranty and final delivered value.
06
What Should Retailers Do?
Retailers cannot control tariffs.
But we can control our decisions.
A responsible retailer should be:
Negotiating harder
Working with suppliers to protect value.
Diversifying sourcing
Avoiding dependence on one supply chain.
Planning inventory earlier
Securing the right products when opportunities are available.
Supporting strong Canadian manufacturers
Especially when the quality and value make sense.
Rejecting unreliable products
Even when the potential margin is attractive.
Improving logistics and service
Because customer value extends beyond the product itself.
CastleUp believes the answer to rising costs should not simply be:
Higher price. Same service.
We believe it should be:
Better product choices. Better support. More value.
Smart Shopping Guide
How Customers Can Shop Better During the Tariff Period
The smartest shopper is not necessarily the person who finds the biggest SALE sign.
The smartest shopper understands the total value of the purchase.
✓ Ask if the product is actually in stock
Is it already in Canada?
Is it incoming?
Is it special order?
Is it shipping from the United States or overseas?
Availability can be just as important as price.
✓ Ask where the product is made
A U.S. brand does not necessarily mean U.S.-made.
A Canadian retailer does not necessarily mean Canadian-made.
Country of origin can matter when tariffs and supply chains are involved.
✓ Compare total delivered value
Don't compare only the sticker price.
Product + Delivery + Installation + Warranty + Service + After-Sales Support
That is a much better way to compare two offers.
✓ Ask what is inside the furniture
How is the frame built?
What foam is used?
What suspension system does it have?
What mechanism does a recliner use?
What warranty comes with it?
A beautiful photograph does not tell you everything.
✓ Ask what happens after the sale
Who handles damage?
Who contacts the manufacturer?
Can replacement parts be obtained?
Who helps you after the furniture is inside your home?
After-sales support has real value.
Don't Panic Buy. Smart Buy.
We are not telling customers to rush out and purchase furniture because tariffs or prices may change.
Furniture is a significant investment.
Take time to compare:
Quality • Comfort • Dimensions • Construction • Warranty • Delivery • Service • Price
But planning early gives you more choices.
If you know you will be furnishing a new home, renovating or replacing major furniture in the coming months, beginning your research earlier can help you avoid making a last-minute decision based only on what happens to be available.
Smart shopping isn't about rushing.
It's about being prepared.
What Value Means to CastleUp
CastleUp Experience Centre was built around a simple idea:
A furniture retailer should do more than put products on a website and collect payment.
We want to understand the products we sell.
We want to understand the manufacturers behind them.
We want to refuse products that do not meet our standards.
We want to support Canadian manufacturers when they provide strong quality and value.
We want to source globally when international products provide the right combination of quality, design and price.
We want to combine our own logistics with trusted national transportation partners.
And most importantly, we want to remain involved after the sale.
Our Promise
When one product becomes too expensive,
we search for another solution.
When freight increases,
we improve our logistics strategy.
When a cheap product does not meet our standards,
we refuse it.
When Canadian-made offers great value,
we support it.
When an unavoidable price increase happens,
we work to provide more service and more value.
Better Sourcing. Better Products. Better Service. Better Value.
Tariffs may change.
Freight costs may change.
Supply chains may change.
Inventory may change.
Prices may change.
But our commitment does not.
CastleUp will continue searching, negotiating and evaluating products from Canada and around the world.
We will continue saying no to unreliable products, even when those products are inexpensive for us to purchase.
We will continue supporting Canadian manufacturers when they offer strong quality and value.
We will continue investing in CastleUp logistics while partnering with national transportation providers to serve customers across Canada.
And when market conditions force costs higher, we will continue looking for ways to give our customers:
More value — not less.
Because a great furniture purchase is not only about the price on the invoice.
It is about the product, the quality, the delivery, the service, the support and the confidence that someone will still be there after the sale.
Tariffs may change the market.
They don't change our commitment to our customers.
